Operated by Albion Brewery to 1892, Then by Tamplins and Sons in 1892.[2]

The publican/landlord was listed as W Cave in a directory from 1859 and Mrs E Beckett in 1866. James Thomas Taylor is listed in a directory from 1878 and he and his family (along with two boarders) are mentioned in the 1881 census, and he is shown in a directory from 1890. Directories show Richard Waite in 1899, John Gander in 1915, 1918 and 1930, and H Marshall in 1938.[3]
