History[]
Originally three small cottages, the premises first became a public house in the 1860s.[1] Owned / operated by Bear Brewery (1856)-1898; Southdown and East Grinstead Breweries Ltd 1898-1903 (sold).[2] It was reconstructed and refronted in 1928.[3] One time operated by Kemp Town Brewery. Currently operated by Shepherd Neame.
